Chrissy Reardon, #10

Meet Chrissy. She is a senior midfielder and captain. She is the first of many player bios I'll be doing this semester. She is the lucky first bio because it was Chrissy that first came up with the nickname strat cat. So, she rightfully earns the first one!

Chrissy is a senior from Springfield, VA where she attended Robert E. Lee high school. She played both soccer and basketball. At UMW she is a psychology major. During her first three years she has scored seven goals, one of which was in the 2009 NCAA tournament. She has scored two goals so far this season. Chrissy is a fantastic captain and is one of the hardest workers on the team. She sends emails to all of us telling us what practice uniforms to wear each and every day. Now that's a lot of responsibility! Chrissy is a camp counselor over the summer and she can also play the ukulele. Go #10!

  1. I like the profiles, an excellent touch. A captain midfielder, that has a nice ring to it. Now are you bringing your camera to the game for shots of the play? Does the team have a photographer or video grapher, even if it is just a simple digital camera or some flip video. Would be cool to see some action from these games. I've been having fun with sports photography for my son, but it is pretty hard to catch the action.

  2. One of the parents brings his camera to all of the games, and posts the pictures onto shutterfly. We do have a team video camera and the managers film the games. They are working on making a youtube account, so I'm just waiting for them to get that set up, then there will be video galore!

  3. I agree with Prof. Groom, the profiles are an excellent touch. I like them because they give readers a snapshot of the person from both the athletic and personal perspective with stats from their soccer career and fun details about their life off of the field. You're giving people the opportunity to really get to know the players on the team, and I think this is cool way to "raise" school spirit/build support for the team.

  4. I had no idea she could play the ukulele. Maybe the last player bio you'll do will be Amy or yourself :]
